Pauline Family Lenten Retreat Day - March 2012, Staten Island, New York

Lenten Day of Recollection with Brother Aloysius Milella, SSP
(March 11, 2012, Society of Saint Paul, Staten Island, New York)
Dear Pauline Family & Friends,

During this grace-filled season the Pauline Family, and friends, in New York dedicated a special day for prayerful Lenten Retreat. The theme:  “God First.”  The purpose was to enter more deeply into the mystery of Lent and Easter.  We are most grateful to the hosts -- Society of St. Paul in Staten Island, NY.

Many thanks to the organizers, donors and fellow participants.  Special thanks for presentations by Brother Aloysius Milella, SSP; Sr. Margaret Tapang, PDDM; Fr. Matthew Roehrig, SSP; Sr. Margaret J. Obrovac, FSP; Priscilla Palad, IMSA; and Greg & Kim Burke, HFI.  My thanks to Sr. Margaret for the opportunity she gave me to speak on the role of Pauline Cooperators in the Pauline Family.

Special thanks to the movers--Brother Richard, SSP, (Delegate); Brother Peter, SSP; Sr. Margaret Joseph, FSP.  It was delightful to be with the Daughters of St. Paul, and fellow Pauline Cooperators Marie-Louise Handal, Maryann Toth, Betty Caunt, and all members of the Pauline Family and Friends in Staten Island who made the day one to remember.

Most memorable were the presentations of Sr. Margaret Tapang and  of Brother Aloysius Milella, FSP, who gave us insights on the person and the work of Blessed James Alberione, the Founder of the Pauline Family, particularly in the areas of evangelization, liturgy and media.  For more details on the retreat, please see Pauline Faithways blog.  Big thank you to Brother Xavier Lee, SSP, for the photos.

It is a blessing from God for the Pauline Family to be present around the world, enabling to extend opportunities for living the baptismal promises, for sanctification, and for proclamation of the Gospel.  I humbly ask for the generosity of heart of readers to help support the cause of canonization of Blessed James Alberione.  Many thanks in advance for your offerings of prayers and contributions.

See the trailer of the film on Blessed James Alberione, and please find ways to help in making the full-length movie: Blessed James Alberione - movie trailer.

May God send more laborers to the vineyard.

"Prayer for Vocations"

Heavenly Father, bless your Church with your compassion and your love. Extend your gracious invitation to many worthy and generous men and women who might be eager to embrace a life of full time discipleship in the school of Jesus our Divine Master, as priests, deacons, brothers, sisters and members of secular institutes. With the grace of the Holy Spirit, may they grow in desire for evangelical perfection and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the service of their neighbors who so desperately need their assistance and their love. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
