Living the Pauline Charism for the Centenary

On June 29th, we, the Sisters of Redwood City, celebrated the Centenary of the Pauline Family and the Daughters of St Paul during a special Mass and dinner reception at St. Pius Parish. The main celebrant was Archbishop Cordileone of San Francisco. There were almost 300 people present and over a dozen priests, two deacons, and some seminarians. Sr. Leonora came, as well as Sr Marie James and her parents, who are HFI members.

Six Pauline Cooperators made their promise during this Mass, and Sr. Nancy renewed her vows for her silver jubilee. Many members of the Holy Family Institute from San Jose and Fresno were present, along with an Annunciationist and four PDDMs from Fresno. We had a beautiful Liturgy and then went to the Parish gym for a dinner.

After dinner there was a pre-screening of the film, Alberione, which the team rushed to us just in time to show for this event, even though the final mix was not yet complete. The people loved it, and we have many inquires about the Pauline Cooperators. One Cooperator said that, after seeing the film, her cousin, who is a Mormon, is now interested in becoming a Catholic. Several priests stayed for the screening as well and found it enlightening, informative, and inspirational. Even the sound/video crew that set up the AV system for the screening thought that it was marvelous and inspiring.

Sr. Nancy Michael, FSP
A special thanks to the Pauline Cooperators who joined us on the Rome Pilgrimage 2010 and made the filming of the movie on Alberione possible.
